This issue’s featured movie shows the pancreatic duct and common bile duct in the head of the pancreas. As mentioned in the editorial above, the subject used for the Visible Human Male data had pancreas divisum. This can be appreciated by watching how the pancreatic duct appears to go towards the duodenum away from the common bile duct. This movie is different from previous featured movies, in that it attempts to show anatomy at the limit of resolution from the Visible Man data set.

To better orient the reader, a labeled image and link to the Visible Human data set are included. This link is approximately at the location of where images were collected for the movie. The common bile duct is not shown in the image but can be located by readers interested in manipulating the Visible Human data set.

We hope that this month’s featured movie and link to the data set will be helpful to readers of this edition’s review on pancreas divisum, as well as a helpful tool in understanding the associated anatomy about the pancreatic head.
