We are in the process of updating the Visible Human Journal of Endoscopy. The oblique maker anatomy dissector is being moved to a new server and will be available soon. We are also in the process of developing new sections within the journal. Starting in 2008, each edition will feature an article from the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Enteric Infections. We will continue to provide regular video and still frame feature articles , including case reports, literature reviews and featured visible human movies.

We would like to develop new uses for the Visible Human anatomy data. The TolTech VH Dissector provides new, high resolution segments of anatomy which have been developed through the University of Colorado Center for Human Simulation. The attached movie is an example as to how Visible Human data can be used to demonstrate to patients and physicians in training how a lung tumor is likely to spread. In this brief video clip, the tumor appears as a red dot which metastasizes through the chest and beyond.

We hope that the expanded directions the journal is embarking on will be useful to our readers. As always, we encourage your submission of manuscripts and case reports to VHJOE.
