The Visible Human Journal of Endoscopy (www.vhjoe.com) is a publicly accessible, open access, peer reviewed, Web-based journal which emphasizes clinical case reports, reviews, images and medical anatomy. Authors are encouraged to use video, audio, digital images and relevant hyperlinks to Web-based information as they feel fit. The journal is intricately linked to the Visible Human digital anatomy dataset. Each issue includes some utilization of the Visible Human, including hyperlinks to the Interactive Atlas, featured movies, and images derived from other Visible Human resources.
Starting in late 2008, I have taken on the role as International Editor for VHJOE and would like you to introduce our ever growing International Editorial Board of VHJOE. The international editorial board’s role is to encourage article submissions from their part of the world, serve as a peer reviewer as needed, increase awareness about the journal in their country. Given the journal’s open access policy and no publication fee for the authors, we feel that this interactive, web based multimedia journal can be a great resource for endoscopists and gastroenterologists around the world. We hope this exchange of ideas will be beneficial to our readers and contributors worldwide.
